BLAST Technique®️
The BLAST Technique® (Bi-Lateral Analysis and Stimulation Treatment) started its incarnation in 2008 with its creator, leading International Hypnotherapist and Media Body Language Expert Nick Davies who managed to speed up the process and efficacy of PTSD and trauma treatment for an all-round better and more efficient experience for the client and therapist.
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) was the probably the most effective tool out there for dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Trauma, but as with anything, things develop, change and improve over time.
Nick Davies’ BLAST Technique® has been described as “EMDR on steroids!”. It has been created, developed and refined to work faster and more effectively with PTSD and trauma utilising the brain’s natural processing systems, rather than only using ‘bilateral stimulation’ or being a ‘confusion technique’.
It has now been effectively used thousands of times by hundreds of trained BLAST® and Advanced BLAST Technique® Practitioners in the UK, USA, Africa, UAE, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Estonia and the Czech Republic.
What is the BLAST Technique®
BLAST is an extremely fast and powerful method to help resolve traumas, PTSD, phobias or lesser anxieties.
The BLAST Technique® was created in 2008 by psychotherapist Nick Davies in order to speed up the process and efficacy of PTSD and trauma treatment for an all-round better and more efficient experience for the client.
It draws from some of the research of neuroscientist and neuropsychologists Joseph LeDoux, Peter Naish and Ksenja da Silva and utilises several treatment modalities to create what BLAST® practitioners and clients believe is the fastest, most effective treatment for this chronic, yet curable condition.
FAQ's
The BLAST Technique® is very gentle and utilises precise bi-lateral movements with a light pen (which helps the memory access the left side/hemisphere of the brain) and specific suggestions to the client which helps reprocess the traumatic event so they understand what happened and can remember, but it no longer has any physical or emotional response. In summary, the event or experience has lost its power or emotional charge through the bilateral movements in BLAST.
When we have a traumatic experience, we can be left suffering with the emotional effects of the trauma. This is because the trauma hasn’t been processed properly in the limbic system. Neuroscience research shows that structures in the right side/hemisphere of the brain are overactive and acting as if there is an immediate threat in sufferers of PTSD and trauma.
Where a trauma has also created a phobia, resolving the trauma also removes the phobia.
Recovery from a single incident can happen in just one session. More multi-layered complex traumas may require 2 - 4 sessions.
No. We do talk about the trauma again briefly, but this is the only and last time that you will have to do it.
No. If you are pregnant, have epilepsy, have chronic asthma or are suicidal then this technique can only be used under the advice of your GP.
Yes, this technique is safe and does not hypnotise you or make you do anything against your will. You are in control of your mind and senses throughout the experience.
